Instructions:
You will need a small piece of Grunge Paper (Tim Holtz), a see through ruler, and a Exacto knife.
With your ruler blunt with the top edge of the grunge paper, pressing firmly, cut a piece of grunge paper the width of the ruler. (use a cutting mat for this.)
On smooth side of the grunge paper stamp a scalloped border die, (I used Around the Edge Border stamps (Dylustions) with black Memento or Archival Ink.
Cut out around the scalloped edge and place the entire grunge paper over the top of your tag. Turn and cut away the excess grunge paper keeping a firm grip so the tag and grunge paper remain identical.
Use a Crop-a-dile or strong hole punch to punch the center hole to match the hole in the tag.
With a blending tool and brown distress ink, (I used Vintage Photo) distress the entire grunge paper.

Distress using a blending tool and a blue distress ink (I used Stormy Sky), the entire tag.
Find a foliage looking embossing folder or whatever you think looks good and emboss the tag in your die cutting machine (I used a Cuttlebug).
Note: Here’s a little tip I learned from Tim Holtz, open up your embossing folder and with your Exacto knife and cut a slit right at the opening about one inch in from each side. You want the two pieces to remain together yet the folder will have a large slit in the top.
Take you tag, bottom first and slide it through the opening about two 2”. This bottom smooth area is where the word JOY will go so think about how much room you will need for that word. I needed two inches.
Once you do that close the folder and emboss.
Take a green distress ink (I used Bundled Sage) and lightly rub the whole ink pad over the embossed area until all the raised areas are green. Distress the edges of the tag with Vintage Photo and a blending tool.

Next die cut a small cardinal and small poinsettia (I used the Mini Cardinal & Poinsettia Movers & Shapers Die (Sizzix for Tim Holtz)
Die cut the cardinal with red cardstock, the poinsettia’s three times with white cardstock and three times with music note patterned paper.
Distress ink around the cardinal with a black ink (I used Black Soot) and put a dot for the cardinal’s eye using black Perfect Pearls, black Stickles or a pen.
Distress ink pink or red around the white poinsettia (I used Picked Raspberry Distress Ink)
Distress ink green around the music note poinsettia (I used Peeled Paint Distress Ink.)
Use your blending tool for this procedure.
Adhere the poinsettia’s together using a glue dot with the white on top and the green on the bottom.

Using Tim Holtz adhesive backed Mirror Sheet, die cut the word JOY using your own alphabet die.
Do not peel the “film” that is over the top of the mirror sheet until you’re ready to adhere to tag, this way the words won’t get scratched.
Adhere the Grunge Paper piece with strong adhesive (I used the pink tape (Therm-o-web).
Peel the film and sticky backing from the word JOY and adhere to the bottom smooth area of the tag.
Adhere the three poinsettia’s above the JOY overlapping and adhere the cardinal using pop dots with his feet into the poinsettia on the right side.
Add the flower’s to the center of the white piece with Stickles or Viva Glitter Liner by using little dots of glitter in a circle filling in the center too.
Tie a sheer red ribbon to the top of the tag.
