12 Tags...tag #2

Introducing...Tag #2 - Bird Tree Tag

What you need to create this tag:
Tag: 3 ¼ x 6 1/8
Cuttlebug or your own Die Cutting machine.
Holly & Pine Branch Texture Fades Embossing Folders (Sizzix for Tim Holtz)
Real Pine Stamp (Hero Arts) or any medium to large pine bough stamp.
Authentique: Peaceful Collection/Solitude Patterned Paper
Distress Ink Pads: Peeled Paint, Shabby Shutters, Pine Needles, Bundled Sage, Iced Spruce and Frayed Burlap.
Blending Tool and Foam Pad (Inkssentials)
Charcoal Cat’s Eye Ink (Colorbox)
Distress Stickles: Rock Candy and Antique Linen (Tim Holtz)
Scotch Quick Dry Glue
Pop Dots
Crinkle Ribbon (Rayon) (Tim Holtz)
Tinsel (Tim Holtz)

Instructions:
Cut strips of patterned paper (double sided) as follows:
1-1x1”
1- 1 ¼ x 1”
1-1 ½ x 1”
1-1 ¾ x 1”
1-2x1”
1-2 ¼ x 1”
1-2 ½ x 1”
1-2 ¾ x 1”
1-3 x 1”
Lay out the pieces alternating the patterns: ( I used Authentique:Peaceful line:Solititude. Ink edges of paper with Cat’s Eye Chalk Ink (Charcoal).

Roll each piece using a straw as your form and Scotch Quick-Dry Adhesive, let dry.
Cut of piece of Authentique (same line) ½ x 4 ½ “.
Glue rolled strips in graduating sizes smallest to largest onto the strip of paper with the smallest at the top and largest at the bottom leaving a space at the bottom to represent the tree stump.

Cut out the largest bird from the Solicitude patterned paper leaving the pine bough attached cutting each of the pine needles on the bough.
Distress bird with any green and brown distress Ink. (I used Peeled Paint and Frayed Burlap Distress Ink (Tim Holtz). (The brown is for the two pine cones in the pine branch.)
Use Distress Stickles (Rock Candy) on the bird (apply this with your finger and let dry) do the same to the pine cones using Antique Linen Distress Stickles (Tim Holtz).

Stamp tag using any pine bough stamp (I used Hero Arts Real Pine stamp) using various shades of green Distress inks (I used Peeled Paint, Shabby Shutters, Bundled Sage, and Iced Spruce Distress Inks (Tim Holtz) Fill the whole tag.
Distress edges of tag with your blending tool using shades of green and one brown Ink. (I used Peeled Paint and Frayed Burlap Distress Ink (Time Holtz.)

Run your tag through your die cut machine with embossing folder Pine Branch folder from the Holly Branch & Pine Branch set. (Sizzix for Tim Holtz Texture Fades Embossing Folders.) If you purchased a 12 Tag kit this step will be done already, just stamp right over the embossing.

Adhere tree to tag , adhere bird to tree using thin pop dots.
Attach white rayon ribbon (Tim Holtz) and silver tinsel (Tim Holtz.)

Now you have completed tag #2!
